Glenfiddich
Scotland
Single Malt
Let the great experiment... Continue! Glenfiddich has added a new expression to its Experimental Series, unveiling Fire & Cane in mid-2018. Malt master Brian Kinsman has given some of the distillery's peated single malt a three-month finishing period in rum casks - but not just any old rum casks. He's selected rum casks from a variety of South American countries to finish this whisky, which ought to play nicely with the burly peat notes at its core.
Billowing soft peat notes, like distant smoke on the wind. Rich sweet toffee with zesty fresh fruit notes and spiciness.
Like a Highland peat campfire, with oak notes and toffee. Sharp green fruit, sweet baked apple and soft smoke.
Lingering smokiness and sweetness.
£5.93 - £51.75
If you enjoy tasting something that smells and tastes like hospital grade disinfectant, knock yourself out. A total waste of $80. Should’ve gone with original Glen, then at least I’d have something to drink
Nose: Spring barley Palette: dried Chinese plum (“hua mei”) minus the saltiness Finish: Smokiness Round: 1
Preferred the 1st batch not enough smoke in this 4th batch. I need to try another batch
I quite like it. I haven't tried this but to me it tastes as though Laphroaig has been mixed into "normal" Glenfiddich. It's the most accurate description of my experience.
For me, this is a perfect whisky - and, oh so tasty. A fiery sweetness, that lingers on your tongue. It reminds me of a Jura Origin or Glenmorangie, but with way more kick
