This single malt from Glenfiddich was aged for 14 years before a finish in new American and Spanish oak casks. They say the American oak adds spice, vanilla, and fruit, and the Spanish oak brings elegant fruit, spice, and complexity.

Interesting nose, very smooth on the palate but light on the after taste - subtle leather and spice. I think this will be good in company but a bit boring for indulging on one's own. Perhaps my older palate and taste for chilli dishes has dulled my appreciation of the gentle and sophisticated. I like more of a kick. Should appeal to younger and possibly female tastes.
cos this one isn't going to last long, i love the oak.

Having tried Glenfiddich's 12, 15 and 18 year old whiskys, and not liking any of them enough to wish buying a bottle for myself, I was pleasantly surprised when I found their 14 yr rich oak really appealed to my taste buds...I really enjoyed it and will definitely be adding a bottle to my collection!
