Got a bottle of this to add to my collection and glad i did. More bourbon than the 15 solera, still picking up a sherried fruityness similar to the 15 solera. Finish is definatly more nutty though. 9/10

Taste gets better

From it completely different taste a more of a bourbon taste then a normal glenfiddich but still very nice in the evening whilst relaxing

Worths a try

I really don't know as much as any of you so read my review at your own risk. Its a good whisky no argue there but on the other hand it tastes like more of a bourbon (or perhaps even, regular jack with a more complex taste?). Too smooth for a scotch. I remember i had a similar(but not the same) issue with glenfiddich's 18 year old but i can't put a finger on it right now. All in all good bottle of drink for change but i will stick with my 15 year solera.

OK, but not great

Firstly, I am by no means a connoisseur. I Picked this up recently at a local supermarket after reading some decent reviews. I absolutely love the Glenfiddich 15-year Solera, but this has left me wondering if I've somehow got a dud bottle, because it doesn't necessarily match the hype. I love the 15 because of its quaffableness and very acidity and afterburn, but the 14 has a distinct "kick" to it, which doesn't sit well with my still-evolving palate. Don't get me wrong, in terms of tasting, it's still a very accomplished whisky; it has a lot of depth and complexity, and has all the characteristics of a Glenfiddich, but it's just too harsh for me. Bottom line: If you want a top Glenfiddich, get the 15-year Solera. It may be more expensive, but it's worth it in my opinion.
