Very complex and rich. Calves leather, cedar wood cigar boxes and cocoa kicking things off. Then we’re onto waves of sweet sherry and chocolate orange, marmalade and butterscotch. Hints of molasses develop and just a whisper of pepper.
About as rich and intense as anything we’ve ever tried from Glenfarclas. The chocolate richness develops in the glass, with notes of chocolate raisins, dates and figs, orange and maraschino cherry. Then spices and thick espresso coffee.
Sublimely concentrated waves of mochaccino and gingerbread, with deep leathery notes clinging to the end.
We’re left speechless! It’s overwhelmingly good…

I was lucky enough to be given the miniature of the 40 year old and I loved every sip. It is so rich and smooth with a pleasant sweetness. I think I sat smelling the empty glass for about 10 minutes afterwards it was that good!
This whisky is simply amazing. Even my non-scotch drinking friends love it and come back for more (if I let them). It's richness and smoothness are simply incredible and it readily blows away any McCallan (yes, including the 30 yr. old sherry). A fantastic bargain at twice the price.
Better experience than that are under 40 year old
