Release number nine of Glenfarclas 1986 from the Family Cask collection comes in the shape of 574 bottles of lip-smackingly good single malt Scotch whisky that has been matured in a sherry butt and was bottled in 2012.
Thick, sweet caramel, dripped over a selection of stewed fruits.
Spicy but fruity sherry and brown sugar.
Fairly complex, with waves of brown sugar, citrus and bitter chocolate.
1986 was good year for Glenfarclas, but then again, has there been a bad year for the?
