Nose: Waves of spice lapping at a shoreline of rich maple syrup. The aroma still maintains a fresh quality, a more than admirable feat for a whisky of this age.
Palate: Deep notes of caramel, dark chocolate and allspice that play around the palate with an amazing vibrancy.
Finish: The finish carries on the party from the palate, it warms from the tip of the tongue all the way down.
Overall: A whisky rocking more than half a century of ageing simply shouldn't be this vibrant but fantastically it is. Plus it has all the deep and complex flavours you could want from such a whisky - truly remarkable.
