A special bottling of Glenfarclas single malt Scotch whisky, aged for 12 years before being bottled at cask strength from those Drinks by the Dram folks. Yummy Speyside single malt at a punchy strength - we love it.
Rum-soaked raisins and good old sherry, with hints of buttered crumpet and malt loaf underneath.
Brioche, fried banana, more raisins and chocolate. A hint of rancio, perhaps...
Nutella, white pepper, clove and damson jam.
Given the astonishingly high ABV on this it’s actually very good value. You can add two parts whisky to one part water and beget back to more “normal” Glenfarclas strength, but I prefer it as it comes out of the bottle.
Very intense, displaying everything I love about Glenfarclas turned up to 11.
Nose is there with sherry and raisins, but the strength overpowers everything. You continue to feel the burn to the end. The strength hides the other flavors. Really not to my liking.
