Glenfarclas 10yo MoM

Glorious Glenfarclas single malt, and it's got our name on it! This is a bespoke bottling from the legendary Speyside-based distillery, released exclusively for Master of Malt. Matured for ten years in oloroso sherry casks, it's bottled up at a robust 55% ABV. Heavily sherried with generous layers of fruitcake and toffee, the higher strength brings a bolder richly mouthcoating profile, with a noticeably lengthier finish than the classic Glenfarclas 10 Year Old.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Sweet barley water and vanilla fudge open the way, with crisp green apples and sherry-soaked stone fruits.

Palate A punchy start leads to robust, mouthcoating layers of dense, aged fruitcake, sticky toffee pudding, and prunes.

Finish Buttery biscuits and baking spices linger, with long-lasting helpings of cooked orchard fruits, soaked sultanas, and sherried oak.

Reviews for Glenfarclas 10 Year Old (Master of Malt Exclusive)
If you like Glenfarclas, you'll love this
A superb dram, particularly at this price. Reminds me in several ways of the dependably great 105, but I think I enjoy this even more. Have already bought another bottle.

This is just a supercharged version of their normal 10yo, and it's absolutely great. I love the 10yo at 40% but I LOVE it a lot more at 55%.

Not bad, not great
The tasting notes are correct, there is sweetness and fruitiness but the tannins are fairly forward and it tastes younger than 10 years, something all too common these days. The heat and spice can't quite be tamed with water before it's washed out. Overall, not bad, but not great either.
