Glenfarclas
Scotland
The 7th release of Glenfarclas' 1971 Family Cask. This was filled into sherry butt 140, where it rested until bottling in 2011. An outturn of 468 bottles.
Sweet and thick. Syrupy notes of sticky toffee pudding, vanilla and fresh, homemade fudge. Just delicious. Hints of apple, a little touch of ginger and orange zest.
Fresh, spicy, rich palate. Surprisingly fresh, as notes of freshly cut hay, tangy green oak and vanilla. It becomes creamy, with hints of spotted dick with hot custard.
Sweet, medium-length finish, with some sweetness. Dried fruits, green oak.
