Master of Malt's #WhiskySanta has returned to give away free orders, £100 vouchers, tens of thousands of pressies inside packages, and to grant Christmas wishes too!
This Highland single malt has been matured in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for big helpings of dried fruit character and sweet spice. Bottled naturally coloured, non-chill filtered, and at a robust cask strength ABV, a drop of water wouldn't go amiss here. A great whisky to cosy up with next to the fireplace, this one.

Reviews for The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 11
Outstanding
An outstanding example of another fine quality whisky that I have come to expect from this great distillery!

Another sherry bomb by Glendronach
I've been a Glendronach fan for quite a time now, so my opinion might be a bit biased... While waiting for the Revival to be ... revived, I went for this one; I did well.
Of course try it pure first, but then, as 55.3% is a bit harsh on the tongue, don't hesitate to add a drip of water or two to enhance the full taste.
I definitely got the sultanas and gingerbread, as well as the apricot syrup mentioned on the bottle. Some cigar hints in the finish in my opinion.
It is as sweet as you could expect from a sherry bomb, while maintaining a strong character along. A true Glendronach wonder, once again.

Typical glendronach with a bang
As someone who's favourite distillery is Glendronach im always going to be biased, because no-one does sherry cask malts better, and this one has all the expected big sweet tastes in there that i like, but at the obviously higher ABV. I find if i add just a tad more water than usual, and let it open up for 10 mins it's worth the wait, as straight from the bottle the alcohol hit can be a little overpowering. It's not quite up there with Allardice or parliament for the nose and mouthfeel, but it's a beauty none the less.

Love this!
I picked up a bottle at the GlenDronach distillery in June 2014 along with a bottle each of 21, 18, 15 and 12 year. I've been nursing them along but they are almost gone now. Absolutely my favorite single malt brand.

superb
Maybe Im a tad biased because i love the sweeter sherry bombs & no-one does this type of expression better than glendronach. I tried this for the first time last nigh & love it already. All the usual unmistakeable glendronach stewed fruits, toffee, coffee & sherry is in there, & the slightly higher alcohol content does it no harm. I found that 15mins after adding just a splash of spring water really opened it up giving an extra dimension. Pity the sun isnt over the yardarm yet, roll on tonight
