The GlenDronach 29 Year Old - Grandeur Batch 12
Batch 12 of The GlenDronach's annual Grandeur is a richly sherried affair, this 2023 release is said to be one of the distillery's most luxurious expressions to date! Bragging an impressive 29-year age statement this offering comprises single malt drawn from a host of rare oloroso sherry casks, selected and composed by legendary master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie. It's immensely impressive, with generous layers of sherry-soaked fruit, dustings of cocoa, roasted coffee, and rich old oak.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Big notes of rich, old oak, chocolate coffee beans, and sherried fruit cake, with boozy plums, glace cherries, and sultanas backed by thick toffee, toasted marzipan, and cinnamon.
Palate
Generous dustings of cocoa join stewed plums, and runny treacle, with roasted coffee, notes of blueberry, clementine, and a tickle of candied ginger. Waves of sweet tobacco waft beneath.
Finish
Superbly rich helpings of sherry-soaked fruit, with softly warming baking spice, syrupy cake, cacao, and coffee, while tannic old oak brings notes of candied walnuts and mellow old leather.
