This is the 10th expression in the limited edition Grandeur range from The GlenDronach. It's a 27 year old single malt that was matured in a combination of ex-Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons and butts, which have been described as some of the distillery’s oldest and most unique sherry casks. It was bottled at a robust 50.1% ABV, with a limited release of just 2,293 numbered bottles.
Black truffle, plum compote and rich treacle initially. Dried apricots, oily walnuts and brandied cherries develop underneath.
Creamy hazelnut, Seville orange marmalade and stewed apples, with clove and coffee liqueur.
Antique leather and plenty of sweet earthy tones.
