A 21 year old Glendronach released in 2011, and aged in a mix of sherry casks (Oloroso and sweet Pedro Ximenez dessert sherry). The result is really very good indeed. Interestingly enough, this whisky has no political associations. It is, in fact, named "Parliament" after the collective term for a group of rooks - and there is a Parliament of Rooks living in the trees near GlenDronach...

Soft smoke and lemon juice, cedar wood, apple peel, toasty oak, soft earth, date and walnut cake and a hint of freshly made espresso.
Golden syrup, soft, juicy raisins, tangy oak notes, peach, cherry blossom, cocoa and honeydew melon.
Sherry tones lead the finish, with a hint of sulphur, chocolate, luscious fruit and pepper.

I am now a believer. The Glendronach Parliament is one of my favourite whisky’s of all time. I think it punches well above its weight in this bracket and I enjoyed drinking it more than the Macallan 18 Sherry cask which is now my second favourite of all time. Do yourself a favour and get a bottle as it is simply amazing.

Snapped up two bottles recently. Distillery is running really low on warehouse stock. Who knows how the new spirit will be once they start bottling that from later this year. Sadly becoming increasingly expensive. Almost 200 at auctions now.
I used to prefer Allardice to this but since the 18 year old started getting bottled using the new distillate, this one has now completely overtaken the 18 year old. It's a little unfair as the 21 is actually much older - more like 25 or 26 year old but can't complain about that.
Buy this while the stock lasts. This is the last of the really older stock. The whisky in these bottles is at-least 26 year old. From next year, GD will be able to use their new stock distilled in 2002 to bottle this dram. 2022 bottling will have whisky that is at least 27 year old. Look up the Glendronach chart on google. By the way, what a fantastic whisky.
