The GlenDronach 18 Year Old - Tawny Port Finish

Developing on the impressive 15 year old Tawny Port cask-finished single malt, the Glendronach distillery now have an 18 year old expresssion too. Once again, it has been initially matured in European oak casks (this time for a bit longer, of course) before being treated to a finishing period in Tawny port casks to give it a depth of jammy, fruit notes.

Please Note:This bottle has minor rust on the lid.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Sweet and bright. Hints of raspberry, strawberry and even a little citrus. Baking spices also pop up along the way, giving warmth and depth.

Palate

Supremely fruity - masses of apple, red berry and fig notes. Tobacco leaf, black pepper and more oak than the 15 Year Old expression give it complexity.

Finish

Oak continues on to the well balanced finish - spicy but sweet.

Overall

A good step up from the 15 year old.
