GlenDronach
Scotland
Single Malt

The Revival has been revived! The GlenDronach's 15 Year Old Revival was a much-loved expression, though was sadly discontinued in 2015 by the distillery, citing lack of maturing stocks. However, stocks have been replenished and The GlenDronach 15 Year Old Revival has returned to our shelves! Matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, this stuff is hugely flavoursome, aromatic and complex.
Please note: We're afraid we can't guarantee which vintage you will receive. It'll still be yummy GlenDronach no matter the vintage, mind!
Coffee beans, sponge cake drenched in sherry, mint leaf, slightly buttery, sultana.
Oily walnut, new leather, blackberry and apple crumble, toasted brown sugar and a touch of liquorice root.
Fresh ginger, waxy orange, caramelised dried fruit and a hint of cigar box.

A superb whisky for the decerning drinker, this is my go to choice for something special. Personally I find some of the older more expensive malts too intense but here at 15 years in the wood, price point, complexity and intense flavours are to my mind in perfect balance. Only downside it's just so drinkable it never seems to last very long
If you have the original Revival, I will buy the bottle from you regardless it is that good. Perhaps better than the Parliament which is still top 3 for Cherry Scotch's. This version of the Revival is not as well done, it does not feel as well aged or produced, it honestly is not as good and I wish they had changed the name and kept the mystique of the "Original" Revival rather than used it for marketing hype. Still a good drink and for the price an amazing Cherry Whiskey, sweet and light, but not what I hoped for which is a shame. Back to the Parliament or the Allardice if it is not available.
I've had several bottles of this now and it has become my favourite. If you like sherry cask whisky to my mind this is the best at the price point. Lovely oily texture with chocolate orange and burnt sugar flavours. I'm no expert and I've never tried the pre-2015 bottling but this is a superb whisky.
Some character has gone, the direct-fire stills will be missed. However, it impresses me how well this iteration matches the 'original' spirit. Lighter, smoother, and slightly less of a woody-tang.
I have been a single malt drinker for several years, The twelve year old Glendronach is very good, I was reloading my stock and my local scotch expert suggested that this was his favorite. I must certainly agree that this is a terrific scotch. Is without a doubt my favorite. It has all the attributes of the 12 year original but smoother and more refined albeit at a bit higher price but well worth the pleasure of drinking it. We are talking Aberlour, MaCallan, Dalmore, The Balvenie, Talisker and Oban. Good stuff.
