The GlenDronach 13 Year Old 2006 (cask 5538) - PX Sherry Puncheon
This here is a 13 year old single malt from the fantastic GlenDronach Distillery, matured in a Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheon from 2006 to 2020. A single cask bottling released exclusively for the UK, with an outturn of 670 bottles. If you're a fan of well-sherried whiskies, GlenDronach is a great distillery to pay attention to, and this particular expression should be right up your street.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Dates, mint chocolate chip ice cream, a touch of old leather.
Palate
More dried fruit on the palate, though now with a hint of cherry in the mix. Walnut, orange oil and a kick of spicy cinnamon.
Finish
Gingerbread, chocolate once again and oak.
