Description
Batch 6 of the wondrous 41 year old 1971 vintage Glendronach. This was distilled on the 25th February and aged in a Pedro Ximenez dessert sherry puncheon (cask 1247) before bottling in June 2012. This is a release of just 529 bottles at natural cask strength.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Rum spices, particularly nutmeg and cinnamon, with a big whack of Demerara sugar, figs, Christmas cake, cocoa and buttery toffee.
Palate
Spiced and decadent, with notes of milk chocolate, cocoa butter, sultanas, Christmas pudding with brandy, zinging winter spices, black pepper and dates.
Finish
Long and intensely spicy with a beautifully rich sweetness.
