A refill bourbon-matured Glendronach single malt is not something you see every day, which makes this single cask release from Woodrow's of Edinburgh especially intriguing. Distilled in 2006 and matured for a full 20 years in bourbon wood, this cask strength bottling strips away the distillery’s usual heavy sherry influence and lets the spirit’s waxy, nutty complexity speak clearly. Just 205 bottles from cask #2107.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Beeswax, toasted coconut, ripe peach, and vanilla pod, with hints of polished oak and almond pastry.
Palate
Creamy malt, honeycomb, and tropical fruit develop into ginger spice, citrus oils, and roasted nuts.
Finish
Drying oak, vanilla cream, and soft spice lingering beautifully.
