Glencadam 9 Year Old 2012 (cask 800525) - Benchmark (Murray McDavid)
A marvellous addition to the Benchmark series of indie bottlings from Murray McDavid, it's a single malt from Glencadam! Distilled in 2012, this one was matured in an ex-bourbon hogshead, finished in a single first-fill oloroso sherry cask, and bottled after nine years, at a hearty 59.2% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Prunes, dates, and soaked sultanas, with maple syrup and a spicy touch of crushed peppercorns.
Palate
Baked orchard fruits, silky toffee, and oily malt, with nutty, spiced fruit cake building alongside warming oak char.
Finish
Rich coffee with vanilla cream, sweet, dark berries, prickles of peppery heat.
