A single cask bottling from the Glencadam Distillery – always an exciting sight! This one was distilled back in December 2005, and allowed to mature for 12 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel. A dozen years later, in September 2018, the whisky was bottled up at cask strength (a hefty 63.1% ABV) with an outturn of 207 bottles.
Lemongrass and kitchen herbs, with caramelised peanuts and a hint of dry oak.
Buttery as it opens up with plenty of vanilla, though soon develops a toasty cedar spiciness. Citrus and floral malt keeps everything balanced.
A long finish, with continued peppercorn and nutmeg heat.
