“Came into my favourite speciality supermarket; scanned curiosly through the Whisky stand; saw and bought it. Ceterum censeo: the dram of dreams; complex, fruity and yes i like hot Spirit! We still are talking of Whisky - not TEA, aren`t we!! One of the best choices, if you are looking for an alternative too much more expensive Highland Malts. Thumbs -and Drams- up!! Nose

Aromatic and fresh. Hay, fruit, gentle wood influence with light vanilla and spice.

Palate

Beautifully balanced with tart fruits, freshly cut hay and vanilla sweetness.

Finish

Long and gentle as it fades out on barley malt and fruit.

The few distilleries I respect

Natural color, unchillfiltered and bottle at 46%. Its really a win for the consumer at this price point. Hay, grapes, honey dew, fresh cut grass and citrus notes. Its a really enjoyable malt of all occasions and settings.

Bargain Classic!

I'm starting to think that Highland malts have become my favourites as my journey continues - particularly in the warmer months. I found the MoM notes for this classic 10 absolutely bob on! Love this dram.

Not as enjoyable for me

I personally dont find this malt light and delicate. For me its hot and nippy and has a very peppery finish. Some water tempers it a bit but im half way down the bottle and still havent managed to find its sweet spot yet. Id take Balblair 12 over this any day. Both are bourbon aged and although there is an extra 2 years on the Balblair and a few extra pounds in the price, it drinks much better and has much more pronounced flavour profile that you would expect from bourbon aged Highland single malt.
