This Glenburgie single malt comes to you as part of the Murray McDavid Mission Gold bottling series, after nearly a quarter of a century of ageing. It was distilled over in Speyside back in 1995, and matured in a single bourbon hogshead. Before bottling, it was finished in a first-fill Oloroso sherry cask, imparting juicy red fruit notes. Murray McDavid bottled the whisky at 25 years old, weighing in at 50.9% ABV.
Stewed red berries, with honey and butter on freshly baked bread, and a helping of pumpkin spice.
Chocolate-covered nuts, oily malt and syrup sponge, with a hint of red grape.
Orange peel and toasty oak, with baking spice lingering.
