We've got a cracking single malt from Glenburgie here, distilled in 1995 and matured for 23 years in a bourbon hogshead. A vast amount of Glenburgie single malt goes into blends like Ballantine's, so it's a rarity and a treat when it gets into the hands of independent bottlers. Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet blondies, dried raspberries, vanilla fudge, and baked apple, with a touch of cedar resting beneath.
Palate
Stewed plums and apricots lead to runny layers of toffee, with a touch of woody spice followed by marmalade and cacao.
Finish
Sweet and zesty, with candied oranges, butterscotch, and soft oak spice.
