Glenburgie 13 Year Old 2004 - Small Batch (WM Cadenhead)
Speyside’s Glenburgie distillery might find its produce almost entirely earmarked for inclusion in Ballantine's, but that hasn’t stopped the Cadenhead’s team from getting its mitts on some casks for our sampling pleasure. This 13 year old expression, drawn from two ex-bourbon hogsheads, is zesty and lively, and indicates just why Glenburgie malts are so highly sought after. 576 bottles have been released.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Really quite tropical: lots of lime, pineapple, and sweet spices. Apple peel too, and an aromatic grassiness.
Palate
Apple, pear, plums and lemon cheesecake. Shortbread and caramel come through, too.
Finish
Sweet and fresh, with all those orchard fruits.
