“I am so impressed with this whiskey I got for £30 and even though standard 40% it really has an amazing flavour I can taste toffee fruits and spices while still being very smooth I have bought 4 since the 1st one and only have one left. Not a legend but a very nice dram at a fantastic price.”

Description

A 10 year old from Glenburgie, matured in refill sherry hogsheads and first fill sherry butts.

Overall

The nose is quite full and rich with notes of sherried sultanas and dried mixed peel. Notes of oak with chewy tannins and a slightly phenolic, sulphury note of bitumen. The palate is quite sweet with winter berries and mixed fruit and nuts, with a little malt loaf thrown in for good measure. The finish is gentle and supple with a little toasted malt loaf.

I bought a bottle of Glenburgie in Edinburgh on a visit in January. I have never heard of this whiskey before and was surprised how nice it tasted.I normally go for the Irish whiskeys but found this was much nicer even my partner who does not like whiskey said how nice it was.I will definately try more from the Gordon and Macphail range

I bought a bottle of Glenburgie in Pitlochry on a visit last October. I must admit I had never heard of it and I thought I knew all the Speyside malts. It was not the finest I have tasted, but it had a unique taste with after-notes of Vanilla aand Caramel -very pleasant and recommended for after-dinner drinking.
