A smoky Speysider from GlenAllachie’s peated project, Meikle Tòir. Distilled in 2021 with a punchy 52 PPM and matured in a first-fill PX hogshead, this single cask (#9851) is all about contrast, thick, sweet sherry notes colliding with assertive peat smoke.
Smouldering peat wraps around stewed orchard fruit, raisins, and grilled honeycomb, with muscovado sugar, maraschino cherry, and a hint of mocha.
Molasses tart, cocoa, and espresso bitterness meet barbecued peach and plum, with manuka honey and spiced orange adding sweetness and lift.
Caramelised spice, dark sugar, and a lingering ember of peat.
