A smashing single cask from GlenAllachie, which has had a rather fascinating maturation. It was first aged in a fresh ex-bourbon cask, then moved over to a first-fill sherry hogshead, and finally finished in a cask that previously held heavily peated spirit distilled at GlenAllachie. Told you it was fascinating! Just 254 bottles were produced.
This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Heather honey and drying smoke, with some waxy orange peel notes underneath.
Almond pastries, scorched barley, dark chocolate shavings, and cracked peppercorns.
Softly spicy with toasted oak.
