At the tail end of 2018, the GlenAllachie distillery launched its first bundle of single cask releases! This one is the oldest of the bunch, distilled in June 1989 and aged in a single sherry butt for 29 years! It was bottled at cask strength in October 2018 with an outturn of 525 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Rich dark chocolate and pear tart tatin. A whiff of lightly charred oak hides underneath.
Palate
Sponge cake drenched in honey, buttery biscuits, a good helping of cinnamon giving it a kick of heat.
Finish
Chocolate orange, beeswax and black pepper.
