Glenallachie 16 Year Old 2008 - Inverdarach Editions (Ardgowan)
Speyside meets Islay in this single malt from Glenallachie, released as one of Ardgowan distillery's Inverdarach Editions! Distilled in 2008, this Speyside single malt spent 16 years maturing in a hogshead that previously held Islay whisky bringing rich layers of smouldering heather and coastal salinity to the hearty notes of chocolate and dried fruit at its core.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Mulled fruit leads, with notes of spiced apple and plum, cacao, and a whisper of peat smoke.
Palate
Dried heather and notes of pipe tobacco are joined by a touch of briny salinity and red fruit sweetness.
Finish
Dark cherry chocolate, burnt biscuits, baking spice.
