GlenAllachie 14 Year Old Cask Strength - Oloroso Wood Finish
The GlenAllachie Distillery has gone and bottled up a superbly flavoursome whisky exclusively for the UK! This expression is a 14 year old cask strength single malt, which was initially aged in first and second-fill American oak barrels, before being moved over to Oloroso sherry puncheons for two years. Following that, it was bottled up at 55.4% ABV, and it packs full-bodied flavour profile of chocolatey coffee, candied tropical fruit, and festive spice.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Ginger, cinnamon, coffee beans, pineapple, and molasses.
Palate
Richly chocolatey, with continued espresso hints. Mango, red apple, a touch of pepper.
Finish
Golden syrup cake, almonds, raisins, ginger again.
