GlenAllachie 13 Year Old Madeira Wood Finish
From Speyside's GlenAllachie Distillery comes this tremendous 13 year old single malt, released as part of its Wood Finish series. This expression was initially matured for over 11 years in American Oak until being moved over for a final maturation in carefully selected Maderia barriques, which had previously held wine made from Malvasia grapes. A fabulous splash of spice and sweetness here, a little more delicate and soft than some of the other releases we see from GlenAllachie.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Creamy vanilla, almond croissants, a whiff of tropical fruit, and soft stone fruit.
Palate
Juicy peaches and apricots, a hint of marzipan, gentle zest, and tangy spice.
Finish
Crushed almonds, oaken vanilla, and more juicy peach with soft spice, burnt sugar, and lingering delicate, tropical sweetness.
