It's always exciting to see a sherried single malt released from GlenAllachie, there have been some stunners to behold under the wood management programme run by master distiller Billy Walker. This one is no exception, distilled in 2008 and matured for 13 years in a single Pedro Ximénez hogshead, bottled up at cask strength, without added colour or chill filtration. A release of 350 bottles.
Notes of baking spices, chocolate, and heather honey, with citrus, ginger, and truffle oil.
Bursting with chocolate buttercream, plum jam, and treacle, followed by crystalised ginger, bananas, and cinnamon, with caramel on the finish.
