This Glenellachie single malt was distilled in 2005 over in Speyside, and left in a single refill American oak hogshead for over a decade. Gordon & MacPhail bottled the Speysider on none other than April Fool's Day in 2019, though this whisky is no joke. The cask yielded 333 delicious bottles at cask strength, a burly 60.4% ABV, as part of the Connoisseur's Choice series.
Sweet malt, supported by banana and vanilla custard, with apple skin and some caramel.
Oak spice and cooked pear tart, with a touch of melted milk chocolate.
Pepper appears on the finish alongside tangy tropical fruit.
