Distilled at GlenAllachie and released as part of its Wood Finish collection, here we have a splendid 12 year old single malt. The whisky spent a decade resting in American Oak, before a second maturation in ruby Port pipes! Rich and vibrant, it's packing plenty of rich, musty character – a most delightful dram.
Floral dried petals and wild honey, pressed grapes, gingerbread.
Banana bread and a prickle of crystalised ginger, dark jammy notes of plum and damson, a touch of zest, sweet oak, and soft spice.
Still floral with juicy, vinous fruit, caramel, and rich barley.

£62.99Certainly one to try, it has everything from start to finish. The taste, the smell the finish it's all perfection. The only downfall and that is putting your glass down.
This is rather superb stuff -the Port come flooding through and makes it all just far too quaffable -I was hoping to make this last through February -fat chance
