Master of Malt exclusive!
The GlenAllachie Distillery in Speyside went and bottled up an extraordinary single malt Scotch whisky exclusively for Master of Malt, and it's an absolute sherry explosion! This expression was distilled back in 2008 and matured for 12 years in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, before being bottled in June 2021 at cask strength – a generous 54.1% ABV. Yes, we know it was bottled for us so of course we would say this, but we really do think this is an incredible dram!
Dense notes of dark chocolate and treacle tart, with underlying red berry sweetness and some Christmas cake richness.
More festive notes, now with gingerbread, cinnamon, and clove, while notes of coffee and cherry persist.
Rounded malt supported by brown sugar and a smidge of orange zest.
