The GlenAllachie Wine Series takes Scotch whisky aged in American oak bourbon barrels and then gives it a minimum two-year additional maturation in wine barriques, each one demonstrating the impact of the terroir of the grape and winery as well as the oak species, level of toasting, and coopering of the cask. In this case, French oak barriques were procured from one of just five Premier Cru Classé chateaux located in the world-renowned wine region of Bordeaux, France. Only the finest here.
Waves of butterscotch, blackcurrant, and heather honey, with hints of minerality, poached orchard fruits, and orange zest.
Layers of honeycomb, black fruits, and dark chocolate, followed by coffee, truffle, and cinnamon.
Crème de cassis and ginger on the finish.
