A well-sherried single malt from the GlenAllachie Distillery, independently bottled up for the Darkness range. This expression has matured for ten years, including a finishing period in a Pedro Ximénez sherry octave cask, which is smaller than your regular ol' hogshead, making for a greater surface area to volume ratio. Bags and bags of sherried character to sink your teeth into here.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Cherry Bakewell, toasted brown sugar, marzipan, and a hint of dark chocolate.
Palate
Rich honey and ripe summer fruits, plus a big helping of extra thick double cream.
Finish
Honeydew melon, redcurrant, and a smidge of dry oak.
