GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength - Batch 13
GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength is back with Batch 13, which boots open the door, carrying a tray of sticky puddings and a flamethrower. Billy Walker’s latest small-batch Speysider combines Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso, red wine, and virgin oak cask maturation into a full-throttle dram bottled at a cask strength of 59.8% ABV. It’s unapologetically flavour-packed and comes without added colour or chill-filtration as always.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Mocha, cinnamon bark, and crystallised ginger leap from the glass, followed by manuka honey, muscovado sugar, maraschino cherries, and warm treacle sponge fresh from the oven.
Palate
Cocoa powder, salted caramel, and thick honey coat the tongue. Then blood orange and baking spices cut through the richness, while molasses tart, fig syrup, and glazed blackberries bring dark stickiness.
Finish
Chocolate fudge, dried fruits, oak spice, and syrupy figs. Add a splash of water and it opens up like a velvet curtain.
