Here we have a splendid ten year old single malt from GlenAllachie! Distilled in 2011, this whisky was allowed to mature in oak casks, before a final nine months finishing in a smaller octave cask. This process was carried out by the clever gang at Duncan Taylor, who then cracked the cask open in 2021, releasing a total of 80 bottles for The Octave collection.
Fragrant malt, wafts of floral honeycomb, oaky cinnamon, and poached orchard fruits.
Chocolate Brazil nuts, cinnamon, and woody maple sweetness are followed by gingery warmth, clove spice, and resinous, charred oak.
Toasted nuts, rich oaky malt, a touch of coffee, toffee, baked apple, and cakey spice.
