Glen Spey 17 Year Old 2001 (batch 19/065) - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail)
A lovely sherried Speysider, this one was distilled in 2001 at Glen Spey! The next 17 years of its existence were spent in a single refill sherry hogshead, until Gordon & MacPhail cracked it open in April 2019. The cask yielded 235 bottles at cask strength, a warming 54.7% ABV, released in the Connoisseurs Choice series.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Mint milk chocolate, honeyed orchard fruit and a dusting of cinnamon.
Palate
Cooked fruit with vanilla cream, apple blossom and some brown sugar.
Finish
Peppery oak and oily almond butter.
