    Glen Scotia Campbeltown 1832

One of the first bottling of Glen Scotia to be released for the Travel retail market, Campbeltown 1832 refers to the region in which the distillery resides, and the year the distillery was founded. The whisky itself features punchier peat than your standard Glen Scotia, and has been finished in Pedro Ximénez casks, making for an intriguing juxtaposition between peatiness and sweetness.

    My new favourite?

Might just be the perfect balance for sweetness and a hint of peat, lovely dram, mellow and spiced fruit, chocolate bitterness and a dry cereal finish with a salty tang. Leaves me wanting more.

Ignore the taste, relish the finish

Campbeltown 1832 is special. If you look just to taste it then it may not seem so at first. However, let it slide down your throat slooowly and I guarantee you will 'get it'. The finish is extraordinary and lasts for ages in silky smooth waves of gentle warmth. This is a Scotch to be savoured. For pure drinking, I have other favourites, but when it comes to something to relax with and enjoy, I choose the 1832.

    Good value for money

A flavourful, warming whisky. In my opinion, don't keep open for too long, I thought the last of it tasted a bit sour after a month from opening it

    My favourite Campbeltown scotch

Great nose. Some sweetness and vanilla but a nice peet forward.

    Any Springbank will be better.

If straight out of the bottle: Nose: orange peel Palate: salt Finish: salt and ash With a bit of water and some time / patience it opens up a little and you get hints of dried fruit. But on the whole, pretty average whisky,
