Glen Scotia 45 Year Old 1973
This impressively aged Glen Scotia single malt has has quite the maturation journey! Distilled in Campbeltown back in December 1973, it was filled into refill bourbon casks for the first three decades or so of its life. In 2011, the liquid was then transferred unto first-fill bourbon casks, where it was left until 2019. At a smashing 45 years old, it was bottled at 43.8% ABV, with just individually numbered 150 bottles released. Alongside, there's a stunning handmade presentation case, crafted from sustainably-sourced British walnut, complete with leather lining.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Bold coastal elements, sea-soaked basalt leads into thick fruit of ripe pineapple and crisp green apple before floral notes of rose, vanilla and toasted oak come through.
Palate
Viscous, oily mouthfeel coats the tongue. Caramel sweetness at first then juicy tropical fruit with pineapple, mango and water melon rounded by vanilla and honey.
Finish
Long mouth-watering finish with sea salt and lime citrus before warming cinnamon and ground ginger spice.
