Gordon & MacPhail
Scotland
Single Malt
Distilled in 1992 at Glen Scotia in 1992 and aged for 15 years before bottling by Gordon and MacPhail.
The nose is quite light and soft. There are hints of the coast with sherried peels and Madeira, notes of winter spice and wood oils. There are hints of cocoa. The palate is of medium-body with a good balance. There are notes of salty melted butter and hints of sultanas and vanilla. Notes of toffee with a touch of smoke. The finish is of medium-length with an ozone note.
I have no idea what the (JP) review was drinking as I thought (as did many others at the bar) that this is a sublime drop. . . Magical infact!! Nice and soothing, sweet on the palate which develops into a mouthwatering explosion of citrus goodness with a beautifully balanced layer of peppery smoke. This leaves you in a good place, dark choc, fruit nut!! A whisky which has its own identity. AS I SAY. . . A TRIUMPH
Another trial and effoert as the wee specky freaks blunders his way to making poor quality products......delusion in a bottle
