A 13 year old single malt from the Glen Ord distillery, that’s been given the distinction of being bottled by Douglas Laing for its superb Provenance range. This was distilled back in September 2004 in a single refill hogshead and left to mature until September 2017, with an outturn of 312 bottles.
Perfumed, with a squeeze of zesty orange and a helping of apple peels. Notes of juicy, barley grist, cut hay and salted butter round it off.
Warm, soft oak initially, the orange blossoms from the nose. Honey’d porridge, crushed biscuits and vanilla form on a light, sweet palate. White pepper adds spice and texture.
A little earthy, with some candied peels and a pinch of nutmeg.
