Glen Moray Summer Fruits (cask 7220) - The Cooper's Choice (The Vintage Malt Whisky Co.)
This glorious addition to The Cooper's Choice indie bottling range by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. was distilled at Glen Moray in the Speyside region. After an initial maturation in American oak, the whisky was transferred to a Ruby Port cask for finishing, imparting an abundance of juicy fruit and berry flavour that presumably inspired the suitably delicious name of the release – Summer Fruits! A total of 360 bottles were drawn from this single cask and bottled at a cask strength of 58.5% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Oaky vanilla and redcurrant jelly with creamy notes of crushed almonds and spiced malt.
Palate
Blackberries and blueberries with sweet, rich juices and warming unctuous spice.
Finish
Toasted oak, creamy vanilla, and sweet malt combine with vinous jammy berries, raisins, and earthy baking spices.
