Glen Moray
Scotland
Single Malt
Single malt Scotch whisky from the Glen Moray distillery in Speyside, which has been treated to a finishing period in sherry casks, giving it a generous helping of Speyside sherried yumminess. Dig in.
Raisin and milk chocolate, with a backbone of butterscotch sweeties.
Cinnamon starts to develop on the palate, giving it an enjoyable warmth. Still rich in caramel and butterscotch.
Medium length, with a hint of five-spice.

Gorgeous. I wouldn't be ashamed to offer this to any of my whisky drinking friends but I'd rather drink it myself. I love that oak/leather aftertaste which doesn't over power the malt at all. This is a bottle I like to keep handy for when I fancy a dram straight but the price means I don't wince if I fancy a Whisky Mac or even as a cocktail ingredient. When my sons want to bring me a gift they know the blue box will make the old man smile.
Well well , this was a pleasant surprise. I never really go for the OFF THE SHELF styles or the no aged cheaper and 40%ers, but this cheeky fella has taken me by surprise. Deliciously smooth, and perfectly rounded on all levels . Great on the nose . Not overly Complex and with a mid range finish that's pretty warming as the fire I sit by in the highlands here For under £30 I would say buy it as your go to dram . I'm certainly grabbing it again
Leather and Cork on the nose but tastes much nicer, fruit cakey. Drinking this straight after an Auchentoshan American Oak and the Glen is so much nicer and interesting
When you let it known to your family you're into whisky suddenly you start to get bottles of the cheap stuff ( lost count of how many bottles of Famous Grouse and Bells I have in the garage now that is used only for flu toddies or cooking). Someone decided to buy me a bottle of this stuff and tbh wasnt expecting great things. I love a smoky / maritime malt and generally steer clear of Speyside malts. Anyway today is Christmas day so had a dram whilst listened to the Queen and wow was really surprised. Basically its Christmas cake in a bottle. Fruity, rich and very pleasant. If ever I get this again it certainly won't be relegated to the garage and will stay proudly in the drinks cabinet with the rest of my collection. Completely recommended and who knows might start a new Speyside love affair.
Good everyday single malt.
