Glen Moray
Scotland
Single Malt
Glen Moray were one of the first distillery's to experiment with Port casks, with this epression joining their Elgin Classic range of affordable no age statement releases back in 2014. It's treated to an 8 month finishing period in Tawny Port casks before being bottled.
Creamy vanilla at the fore, joined by jammy redcurrants and blackberry. Toasted oak touches in the background.
Butterscotch candies, golden barley and a touch of cinnamon. The port cask influence comes through with light notes of raisins and freshly picked red berries.
Rather long, with honey, vanilla and a dusting of cocoa.
love it, and so inexpensive
Easy drinking with a great taste a long finish
Great single malt, smooth easy finish and taste, enjoy
It's pretty much not bad at all . I would say a young-ish spirit 6 or 7 or 8 maybe. Not long enough in the port pipe though . I would definitely buy it as another GREAT go to dram as with the Sherry cask which is the better of these 2 . It's a simple easy nice dram to have EVERY NIGHT beside the fire . Great value.
The port cask finish added lovely richness to this otherwise pretty simple, pleasant Speyside single malt. I enjoyed this before I even got into scotches.
