Glen Moray 13 Year Old 2008 (cask 7033294) - The Octave (Duncan Taylor)
Distilled in 2008 at Glen Moray, this single malt Scotch was treated to 13 years of maturation. Its final four months were spent in a single octave cask, to allow more rapid interaction between the wood and the whisky, resulting in gloriously rich notes of oaken vanilla, and a silky mouthfeel. In 2021, a total of 76 bottles were released by Duncan Taylor, for The Octave series.

Nose
Vanilla cupcakes, fruit salad, a touch of zest, dry oak.
Palate
Bold barley leads the way, with honey-roasted nuts and poached stone fruits to follow.
Finish
A touch of cedar rests beneath fragrant vanilla, silky caramel, apples, and apricots.
