A stunning 30-year-old Speyside from Glen Grant, drawn from a 1993 refill barrel and a 1995 first-fill sherry hogshead, married and bottled at 46.8%. This is old-school sherry in full voice, so expect fruitcake, antique oak, and comforting, dusty warehouse aromas. The kind that make seasoned whisky drinkers weak at the knees. Only 177 bottles exist.
Polished oak and old wine mingle with Madeira cake, candied peel, and dark chocolate. Hints of hessian, rancio, and musty cellars add classic sherried charm.
Rich and velvety, unfolding with figs, prune syrup, nutmeg, and cocoa. Notes of walnut, pipe tobacco, and orange oil linger beneath.
Long and dignified, with leather, treacle tart, and a soft echo of old Madeira.
