This is the first bottling in Glen Grant's Rothes Chronicles series, named after its home town in Speyside and released for the Travel Retail market. Cask Haven is a full-bodied single malt drawn from a selection of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks. A great balance of vanilla and spicy sherried fruit notes to be had here.
Brandied cherries, creamy vanilla and cinnamon rolls.
Still big on the creamy vanilla notes, balanced by cassia, black pepper and ginger. Touches of lemon and lime appear later on.
Just a hint of beeswax lingers.

This blew me away for the price it was. Phenomenal dram from Glen Grant. Nothing crazy on the palate - plenty of sweet toffee, candied apples and honey. Lingers on the finish. Wish I took more than the one bottle at Duty Free!
The nose is traditional GG...In mouth are honey, burning sugar, cinnamon, followed by marzipan and GG's trademark waxy, floral taste. A nice warming and longish finish. Very nice stuff and difficult to believe its a nas. This is an "Old Style" whisky profile.. no big slap in face, just quality whisky. well done GG superb stuff. struth
